Ipswich Women in Business

Ipswich Women in Business was founded in 2010 by Janette Adams and Louisa Janke, to provide a platform for women to connect, collaborate and grow.

You can experience IWIB through a variety of different events during the year - networking, special guest speakers, business showcases, workshops etc. - and each month there's something new to inspire.  In 2018, we were excited to welcome Kerryn Costello to the IWIB team, and our offerings became ever richer – as we continuously profess, we are stronger together.  This also lead to the successful launch of the inaugural IWIB Business Awards in 2019, an amazing evening of celebration, and we look forward to recognising future talent in the years ahead.

Throughout the years we have had to move with the ebb and flow of life influencing IWIB in various ways, from the celebration of mama hood or to more recently the impact of covid-19.  And we completely get it, we know we’re not living in a bubble and we all face various challenges along the way, but we’re here to provide the tools to help you navigate this great big adventure called life.

No matter what stage of business you are in, from the conception of the first idea to the seasoned business woman, IWIB is for the everywoman.

Janette Adams

Meet Janette! Janette Adams is a very passionate Ipswich resident, mum of 3 and business personality. Now in its 11th year, Obsession Shoes Boutique in the Top of Town, is where you’ll find Janette and her gorgeous shop filled with shoes and accessories and her team offering an exceptional customer service experience. Janette also operates Precious Packages, a boutique gift basket business and has for 21 years! When not servicing Ipswich with shoes and gifts, Janette loves to support community groups and Ipswich businesses. Co-founding Ipswich Women In Business ten years ago created an opportunity to meet so many like-minded people. Through those years, Janette has always made herself available to offer her opinion, time and support.

Louisa Janke

Louisa is the face behind the l’essence brand, a sought after green beauty range of luxe bathing products, going from markets and online in 2012, to having it available at specialty retailers around Australia and now a new international market. Believing in the importance of unlocking our creative potential, Louisa adds to her resume a selection of projects, from artistic director showcasing Ipswich and South-East Queensland designers, a regular contributor for a publication sharing recipes from her kitchen table, she now draws on her interest in research for developing writing projects that focus on inspiring and extraordinary women. Louisa brings to IWIB self-empowerment through the senses, creativity and communication to reconnect with our most wild and authentic selves.

Kerryn Costello

Born in Adelaide, raised in California, Kerryn has a passion for creating the unforgettable. With a Degree in Photography and her Masters in Marketing, she has a flair for the creative. As the Managing Director of Ipswich marketing agency, On Point Media Solutions, Kerryn has been at the fore front of helping local businesses achieve their marketing goals for the past 5 years. Kerryn also has a passion for connecting and giving back to the community through On Point Media Solutions, the work she does with Ipswich Women in Business, and the connections she has made through the group. Whether it is providing advice or organising a fundraising event, Kerryn is never far away from an opportunity to help when people are in need.
